Online Lessons Feedback
Madalena took ten online lessons with one of our teachers from May to August to prepare for the Cambridge Advanced Exam.
Here is what she had to say about her course with Liverpool School of English.
Q: Why did you choose to have online lessons with us?
A: My main purpose of the private online lessons was to improve my speaking, writing, listening and reading skills in preparation for the CAE (C1) exam, in August. I was pleased to know that the Liverpool School of English had available online tuition as this was ideal for me – not only do I live quite far away from the school but I also find it difficult to commit to lessons at fixed times as my days off at work vary from one week to the next.
Q: What did you find most useful about the lessons?
A: The lessons have exceeded my expectations; the teacher was always available to organise his schedule in order to fit me in every week. Nothing was too much trouble. Each lesson was prepared with extreme professionalism and tailored to my needs, with real attention to detail, and the teacher had a friendly and encouraging approach throughout each lesson which made me feel comfortable, focused and motivated to keep learning and working hard.
The focus on each section of the exam was very helpful in order to improve my skills. I received very good tips and practice exercises for Papers 1, 2, 3 and 4 on how to improve my timing with my speaking and reading exams, and a lot of focus on phrases, vocabulary and punctuation for the writing exam. I was given feedback and correction on all tasks and the teacher was always supportive whether I got the answers correct or not.
The teacher was always kind enough to email me prior to each lesson to tell me what he would like to focus on, whether I was happy with it or if there was anything else I would like to study. The flexibility to change or adapt if needed were always there.
Madalena was delighted to hear in September that she had passed the Cambridge Advanced exam and is now thinking about booking some more online lessons to prepare for the Cambridge Proficiency exam.
