False beginner to Low Elementary
- Common European Framework: A1 (Breakthrough)
- CEFR Summary: You can understand and use very basic phrases. You can ask and answer questions about personal details.
Elementary to Pre-Intermediate
- Common European Framework: A2 (Waystage)
- CEFR Summary: You can understand basic sentences and frequently used expressions. You can communicate in simple situations.
Intermediate
- Common European Framework: B1 (Threshold)
- CEFR Summary: You can make effective and independent use of the language in familiar situations although there are still lapses in communication.
- IELTS Level: 4.0-5.0
Upper-Intermediate
- Common European Framework: B2 (Vantage)
- CEFR Summary: Your use of language is consistent and usually appropriate but lapses in fluency and accuracy still occur in complex situations.
- IELTS Level: 5.0-6.5
Advanced
- Common European Framework: C1 (Effective Proficiency)
- CEFR Summary: You have a good command of the language. It is fluent, accurate and well-organised with only a few uncertainties in complex and difficult situations.
- IELTS Level: 6.5-8.0
Advanced Plus
