Virtual Liverpool
Liverpool has so many brilliant cultural things to do which makes it a very exciting place to be. Did you know that Liverpool was the European Capital of Culture in 2008? We always have top music events to go to, theatre shows to see and new exhibitions to discover. Liverpool has more museums and art galleries than any other city in the UK after London. You can even experience some of these things right from your sofa at home.
So, get comfy, get some snacks and get ready to explore Liverpool virtually!
The World Museum
This is one of the largest museums in Liverpool and is also the oldest; the original World Museum first opened in 1853! It has 6 floors of exhibitions ranging from Egyptians to Dinosaurs it even has a bug house, a planetarium and an aquarium.

The International Slavery Museum
This museum looks at the history of slavery and the impact that it had around the world. They also actively campaign against modern day slavery. You can explore the museum here.
The Tate Art Gallery
There are just four Tate Art Galleries in the UK and we are very lucky to have one of them in Liverpool. Constellations is their permanent exhibition which showcases a changing collection of modern art from all over the world. Check out their online Constellations exhibition here.
Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
The Liverpool Philharmonic is one of the oldest concert societies in the world, it was started in 1840 by a group of musicians in Liverpool. It includes the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir who play at the hall regularly and all around the world. The Philharmonic Hall which is just 5 minutes from our school is known locally as ‘The Phil’. At ‘The Phil’ they also have other types of music events such as rock, pop, folk and other classical music.
They are streaming videos at set times each week with the ability to connect and talk to other viewers all over the world. You can watch archive videos on their YouTube channel and listen to playlists created by musicians that they work with on their Spotify. Check out their website for more information.
Comedy Night
Fancy a good laugh and giggle? Hot Water Comedy Club on Hardmen Street is a great comedy club just 10 minutes’ walk from our school. They are showing live comedy shows on Friday and Saturday nights and best of all, they’re free! Find out more information on their website here.
Liverpool Digital Music Festival
Liverpool has so many brilliant festivals each year, during the summer it feels like there is one every weekend! For now though we have the Liverpool Digital Music Festival which is on from 23rd May – 25th May. It’s a free online music festival with singers and bands all with a Liverpool connection. They will announce the line-up on their website soon, we’re excited for a full weekend of live music!
