Course Outline

The English for Business course runs five times per year, and can be taken as a two week or four week course, or as part of a longer course.

There are two modules, each module consists of six two hour units focusing on written and spoken business communication. The course is designed for students who may need English for occasional use in business, to help them feel more confident and fluent in using English in a business environment.

The course is suitable for students of an Intermediate to Advanced level, lessons are based on a textbook and supplemented with current newspaper and media articles. Skills practised include telephone English, writing emails, formal and informal letters, discussion and negotiation skills and writing reports.

The course is limited to a maximum of twelve students. At the end of the course students will take a short exam and receive a certificate of attendance.

The English for Business course will help students communicate in today's international business world.

Course Information

Age:18+
Hours: 21 hours per week
Each 3 hour block of learning includes a 15 minute break
Each 2 hour block of learning includes a 5 minute break

Levels: Intermediate to Advanced (CEF B2-C2)
Course Length: 2-4 weeks
Class Times: 9:00-12:00 every day, Mon-Fri, plus 3 two hour lessons of EFB
Max Class Size: 15 students (General English) 12 Students (EFB)
Average Class Size: 12 students (General English) 8 Students (EFB)
