Course Outline
This course is designed to extend the Standard General English course. 6 hours per week, in addition to the standard 15 hours, the course will help students to practise and expand on what they have learned in the standard course.
Lessons are not from a course book, but are specially written by teachers to help students get the most from their study. There is greater use of authentic texts (radio, TV, films and newspapers) and lessons will often be based around the skills of listening and speaking.
The course will also focus on specialist areas such as vocabulary and pronunciation. Students can discuss the areas they would like to study with their teacher.
Aims of the Course
The General English Intensive course enables students to review and extend what they learn in the standard class, to get a deeper understanding of the English language. The course helps students become more fluent in their spoken English.
Course Information
- Age: 16+ (permission needed for students aged under 18)
- Hours: 21 hours (15 Standard plus 6 Extra)
- Each 3 hour block of learning includes a 15 minute break
- Levels: Elementary to Advanced (CEF A2-C2)
- Course Length: 1week-48 weeks
- Class Times: 9:00-12:00 or 12:45-15:45 everyday Mon-Fri, plus two extra classes (6 hours)
- Max Class Size: 15 students
- Average Class Size: 12 students
- Start Dates: Any Monday
